So, I felt it would be easier to post this in a new thread rather then just respond to the thread I found it in.
I live in Grants Pass, OR, and I was wondering, since most of you kind and talented folk live farther up then I, if you know any gyms or trainers here that I could learn at[from].
I understand some people have to learn by themselves, but I also realize that learning from someone who knows what the hell they're doing is alot easier (and I would assume faster).
Any suggestions, links, or aide is more appreciated then you could possibly know.

Suggestion: Make a Jam, plan a trip up north, jam with us for a day, and return to Grant's Pass with a whole series of things to practice between then and your next Portland visit. I imagine the parentals might seem a bit sketchy to send their kid some 100 miles up, but I'm sure you could convince them. :)

Not at all. We encourage beginners to come out on a jam with us.

I'll plan on trying to make it out one of these days. I really must warn you though. While I've read tons of tutorials online, I really don't know anything :P

Hello I live in Grants Pass and have become extremely interested in parkour lately. I know this is not a hot spot for parkour but I would still like to find someone in the area who knows a little bit or at least has a common interest. If I got to the point were I wanted to come up to Portland to run with all of you how far should I be able to run, how many push ups, and sit ups should I be able to do. Is there any other workout that you recommend? 541-415-2718

Lol, this isn't the army man. There aren't any PT requirements. Don't get me wrong, physical endurance is a nice requisite to have, but it's not necessarily a must. At least find out your limits, and determine a routine/workout to extend yourself past those limits without burning yourself out or injuring yourself. There's a myriad of workouts and routines you can find online to help you find a place to begin. Set them goals, man.

Adding onto what Alex said... Parkour can be interpreted many ways but defined only by one. (everyone knows the point a-b story... that's what parkour is defined by) it can be interpreted by some to be a fitness thing, some to be a way of life, and to most it's just overcoming you fears and improving confidence. Just my thoughts. Oh and feel free to be yourself... I don't think anyone here will drill into your head parkour is not about tricks we all mess around all the time... just have fun.

Have fun and MAKE PROGRESS. Best feeling in the world is doing something you've never done before--and surviving to tell about it. (I can attest to that. ;()
